Created by Michael Tolkin, ‘The Offer’ is a dramatized retelling of the several challenges and obstacles during the production of Francis Ford Coppola’s 1972 gangster film ‘The Godfather.’ As the narrative progresses, the miniseries dives into the behind-the-scenes politics within Paramount Pictures that affected the film’s production. In the show’s seventh episode, viewers see studio executive Jack Ballard and editor Aram Avakian losing faith in Al Ruddy and Coppola’s vision....

As the title suggests, ‘Cheer’ is a Netflix original documentary series that introduces us to the incredibly mesmerizing world of stunting, tumbling, basket tossing, and more by following the top cheerleading programs in the nation. They are, of course, the long-term rivals Navarro College and Trinity Valley Community College, with the latter taking center stage after only being briefly mentioned in season 1. In other words, here, we get to see the hard-working and all-passionate coaches and athletes in their element as they highlight why cheer is so influential....

Helmed by Mateusz Rakowicz, Netflix’s Polish-language original crime thriller movie ‘The Getaway King’ probes into the life of one of Poland’s most celebrated criminals. Zdzisław Najmrodzki is something of an Arsene Lupin on his home turf in Poland. In the turbulent 70s and 80s — an era of transition — Najmrodzki makes steady headlines in the media. He rises to fame thanks to his daring escapades and charismatic persona. The movie presents a complex and grounded look at the life of the famed embezzler, highlighting his familial role and non-violent stance....

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, ‘Blade Runner 2049’ is a sequel to the sci-fi cult classic ‘Blade Runner.’ It picks up 30 years after the occurrences of the 1982 original movie and follows Ryan Gosling as K, a Nexus-9 replicant looking to retire rebellious replicants. He finds a secret buried within a ruinous city that threatens to upend the world order in chaos. While a sequel, the movie reads like its own distinct space opera, guided by a score from Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch....

Directed by Andrew Cymek, Hallmark Channel’s ‘My Grown-Up Christmas List’, follows military man Luke and journalist Taylor on a series of Christmases. The 2022 movie charts the progression of their journey over the course of a number of Christmases, whether spent in each other’s company or not. The movie is part of the Hallmark Channel’s Christmas in July line-up that aims to give viewers the fuzzy feeling of Christmas as early as July through some warm-hearted movies and ‘My Grown-Up Christmas List’ also strives to fit the same bill....

Directed by Sean Anders, ‘That’s My Boy’ is a satirical comedy movie that follows a middle-aged father who finds himself in need of fast money. For that, he looks back at his past and realizes he needs to reconnect with his estranged son. With comedy legends Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg in the lead roles, you can’t hope for anything less than endless laughter and uncontested entertainment. Besides that, the film has a lot to offer visually, with most of the scenes taking place at a majestic villa that sits in a picturesque garden....

Created by Greg Daniels, ‘Upload‘ is a science fiction comedy-drama series that stars Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Allegra Edwards, and Zainab Johnson. Set in the near future, when transferring ones’ consciousness into a virtual afterlife is a possibility, the show follows Nathan, a computer programmer who dies prematurely. When he wakes up in the virtual worlds’ expensive Lake View region, Nathan’s life is only complicated by his still-living girlfriend, Ingrid. However, he does find some solace in his bond with Nora....

TLC’s ‘90 Day Fiance‘ takes us deep into the lives of US citizens who are engaged to foreign nationals. The foreign partners arrive in the United States on a K-1 visa, but they are allowed a maximum of 90 days within which they have to get married or face deportation. However, with differences in lifestyle, habits, and customs, it remains to see how each cross-border relationship adjusts to everyday issues....

When talking about the classic comedies, I do like something different and challenging. Please do not get me wrong, I like to laugh as much as the next guy, but I like to laugh and be challenged, I like them to work for my laughs. Comedy is a genre but there are several sub genres under the comedy banner. We have my personal favorite black comedy, satire, screwball, farce, romantic, musical, slapstick, vaudeville-burlesque, political, and parody, a fairly new genre courtesy of Mel Brooks....

You all must be pretty familiar with several male villains in the Marvel universe. Thanos, Loki, Magneto, Galactus .. the list goes on. But what about female villains? It is not that just men are evil; women can be evil too. So, sure, Marvel has created quite a few female villains over course of time — not many as male villains, of course. Most of these women are hyper-sexualized, stylish, and powerful....

Making a film, no matter how bad or good it is, is a painstaking and burdensome process. The director especially is the individual who is responsible for everything on the set, from supervising renting of equipment to managing actors with egos bigger than the budget of Avatar. Movies are basically projected visions of their directors, and they work relentlessly to express that, along with the crew who coordinate to their best abilities to act as the director’s paint and brushes....

While comic book movie fans are divided on which franchise, DC or Marvel, is better, most of them do love watching movies from both. The two movie franchises offer very contrasting, and yet, very similar movies. Although fans may prefer one over the other, most of them still consider the marvelous Dark Knight Trilogy by Christopher Nolan as one of the best comic book film series ever made. The way it presents realistic scenes with so many twists and turns, it’s hard to not fall in love with this trilogy, even for non-comic book fans....

On top of it, the show also brings their romantic relationships into perspective and shows how their respective partners support and guide them through this challenging journey....

NBC’s ‘This Is Us’ is a family drama that focuses on the life experiences of the Pearsons. Jumping between the past, present, and future, the heartwarming rom-com allows us to witness the romantic and professional experiences of Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz), Randall (Sterling K. Brown), and the different generations of their family. Since season 2, fans have been appreciating the complex storylines pertaining to Deja (Lyric Ross), Randall’s adopted daughter....

With writer-director Ryōtarō Makihara at the helm, ‘Vampire in the Garden’ is an enticing post-apocalyptic action anime that makes a powerful and dynamic protagonist out of a pacifist child character. The winter has been quite long for the humans, as vampires rule the city with abundant blood. Humans plan to stage a large-scale attack on the vampires to reclaim society at this juncture. A young cadet struggles to cope with the losses of war while the vampire queen takes her to safety....
